August 30th

9:00pm | The Fast and the Furious (2001) NEW SERIES ALERT! WeeWoo! We're startin' from the beginning of this amazing, baffling, hyper-awesome set of films that just somehow keeps doubling down. This one's actually a fairly normal action movie about an undercover cop who succumbs to the lifestyle of illegal street racing. Let's GOOOOO!!
Starring: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Rick Yune, Ja Rule

August 29th

9:00pm | Keeping Up with the Joneses (2016) Marital Arts Monday is back, and we know the formula. Spy couple hiding in plain sight in suburbia creates some great gags and funny set pieces around marriage, espionage, and cupcakes. It's not quite Mr. and Mrs. Smith sexy or Knight and Day actiony, but it's chock fulla laughs and beautiful people!
Starring: Zach Galifianakis, Isla Fisher, Jon Hamm, Gal Gadot, Patton Oswalt, Ming Zhao

August 28th

9:00pm | My Cousin Vinny (1992) Two New Yorkers decide to travel through the South and it goes awry, causing them to need a lawyer. (You guys see what I did here? hmmm PauseChamp?) They are wrongly arrested for murder and have to enlist the help of their only known legal defense, one of their cousins who recently passed the Bar but has never seen a trial. Cousin Vinny and his very New York attitude, girlfriend, and accent arrive to shake things up in this small town. The result is a hilarious and fairly accurate courtroom comedy!
Starring: Joe Pesci, Marisa Tomei, Ralph Macchio, Mitchell Whitfield, Fred Gwynne

August 27th

9:00pm | The Devil's Advocate (1997) Keanu is a lawyer. A damn good one. Al Pacino would like to recruit him to his big city law firm where everything seems to go pretty pretty good. A young southern belle Charlize Theron who plays Mrs. Lawyer is not too thrilled about big city life and all the luciferian temptations that come with the success of hubby's lawyerin' and whatnot. And Keanu lawyer is beginning to suspect his mentor boss might be something a bit more sinister than just a big city, New York Law Firm Lawyer. Are you guys getting this? Should I be more obvious like the name?
Starring: Keanu Reeves, Al Pacino, Charlize Theron, Jeffery Jones, Craig T. Nelson

August 26th

11:00pm | Dawn of the Dead (2004) This is easily one of my favorite modern, hollywood horror movies, and the opening scene is an absolute masterpiece of zombie horror not to be missed. And friends of the show will know that I'm not a Zack Snyder fan at all. But the fact is, he's actually really restrained with getting his Snyder stink all over this. In fact, I never really even connected it with him it's so unlike his later super crap. Of course... it doesn't hurt that the screenplay was written by James Gunn, both respecting the somewhat more overtly political Romero source material while realizing how two decades changed the discussion of rampant commercialism by recognizing the gradual downfall of the physical brick-and-mortar monument symbolic of capitalistic hubris - The Mall.
Also, there's a zombie baby... soooooo. Welcome to the Friday Night Midnight Movie!!!
Starring: Sarah Polley, Ving Rhames, Mekhi Phifer, Jake Weber, Ty Burrell, Michael Kelly

August 25th

9:00pm | Cronos (1993) This is Guillermo del Toro's feature debut, and for being one of my favorite creators, it's amazing I've never gotten around to seeing this! Here's what I know without any spoilies... it's gonna be weird, probably a bit scary, it's about a really old device or some sorta mysterious mechanism that carries a monkey's paw type curse for eternal life, it's supposed to be an extremely original horror, and it's bound to be awesome!
Starring: Federico Luppi, Ron Perlman, Claudio Brook

August 23rd

9:00pm | Venom (2018) Wait a second... this doesn't have any spoodermen in it! Not even a lil' Garf. What's going on here with my Random Hollywood Spider-Movie Generator that I've been running since 2012 and slowly catching up on its results? Maybe it's been compromised by a symbiote like Tom Hardy in this. Maybe it's why my streaming machine runs at over 50% cpu and practically on fire most of the time... Oh well, sorry for the scuff guys, gotta keep churning out these spidey flicks or the economy will probably fail!
Starring: Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, Jenny Slate, Woody Harrelson

August 22nd

9:00pm | Free Guy (2021) An NPC in an open world video game becomes self-aware of his existence and falls in love with a human player. This is like an action RR movie yeah? Maybe a comedy. I'm assuming RR plays himself, which I'm here for every time, don't get me wrong. I don't really know much else about it. I'm assuming if you're a hardcore gamer like myself it'll be full of references that we'll get and laugh at. Anybody wanna join my LAN party for some Quake later?
Starring: Ryan Reynolds, Jodie Comer, Taika Waititi, Lil Rel Howery, Channing Tatum

August 21st

9:00pm | The Sandlot (1993) This is a period piece about some neighborhood kids playing pickup baseball in the 60s. And there's an awful dog and James Earl Jones and life lessons and whatnot. Everybody knows this movie right? It's amazing how culturally impactful this was for a whole generation and how all the kid actors went on to do a collective absolutely nothing. Whatever happened to kids' baseball movies anyway? Was that strictly a 90s thing? Let's bring it back. Also Mark-Paul Gosselaar, he can't be up to anything right?
Starring: Tom Guiry, Mike Vitar, Art LaFleur, Patrick Renna, James Earl Jones, Denis Leary

August 20th

9:00pm | Sin City (2005) Hyper stylized noir crime anthology from acclaimed comic creator Frank Miller and directors Rodriguez and Tarantino. And if that sentence fragment plus the cast list below isn't enough for you, what are you even here for? Four tales from Basin City of ultra-violence, deviance, and corruption weave around each other and the citizens for better or worse of the world's most infamous city. With cinematography that captures the style of a graphic novel like nothing before or after, it's a brutal and beautiful film.
Starring: Clive Owen, Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke, Devon Aoki, Alexis Bledel, Powers Boothe, BDT, MCD

August 19th

11:00pm | Cabin Fever (2002) Eli Roth's debut about a group of coeds in the woods is very much a love letter to Evil Dead and some 70-80s exploitation body horror. It's done really well and, to be honest it's still my favorite of his, as he seemed to dive headfirst into regular ass torture porn after this extremely classic creepy and atmospheric effort. Maybe it's just cuz he had great source material to copy from with this, but I dunno. Anyway, 5 hotties led by Shawn from Boy Meets World go for a chill hang at a cabin in the woods and are met with a mysterious illness... It's the Friday Night Midnight Movie!!
Starring: Rider Strong, Jordan Ladd, James DeBello, Cerina Vincent, Joey Kern

August 18th

9:00pm | Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014) Riggan Thomson is an actor famous for playing a superhero a couple decades ago and not much else. He is determined to regain the spotlight by putting on a broadway show, and this is about the difficulties in making that happen. I haven't seen this yet, so I'm unsure if there's more meta involved than just the Keaton/Batman obvious connection, but it seems like there could be. For me though, Keaton is one of the greatest, and certainly not a one-hit wonder. In fact, I love everyone involved in this! Why haven't I seen this yet?
Starring: Michael Keaton, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Norton, Emma Stone, Andrea Riseborough

August 16th

9:00pm | Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) Alright, I've decided to go with this one next and separate the Spooders from the Avengies, otherwise we are never gonna get through this series. This is the first of the Holland era, so we can all go through our spidey rankings again, and also Spider-GFs now that this Zendaya has entered the picture as... Michelle? What? Does this era not have a Gwen or an MJ at all but everybody else is the same? Is the Vulture the same as Birdman? Are you seething right now that I don't have comments on this site and you have to wait a couple hours to set me straight in chat? hehehehehe
Starring: Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, RDJ, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Zendaya

August 15th

9:00pm | Unleashed (2005) A man raised in slavery as an attack dog escapes his captor and discovers the power of music. No I am not just making shit up now, you gotta believe me! This has the hard-nosed killer with a heart signature writing of Luc Besson handled deftly by action director Louis Leterrier. And Bob Hoskins playing the perfect villain. Brutal fight scenes and a touching story on this, the day of our Martial Arts Monday!
Starring: Jet Li, Bob Hoskins, Morgan Freeman, Kerry Condon

August 14th

9:00pm | Blockers (2018) An underrated teen sex comedy, this movie is a coming of age tale about... the parents of three girls determined to lose their virginity. Held up by a very funny Leslie Mann and a no holds barred script, this one will have you laughing and cringing your way to learning valuable life lessons about growing up and letting your kids do the same. Fair warning, there will be dong, and butts... there's like, a lot of male nudity in this.
Starring: Leslie Mann,           , Ike Barinholtz, Kathryn Newton, Geraldine Viswanathan, Gideon Adlon

August 13th

9:00pm | Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) I am trying to write a synopsis of this, and I'm over here like, what IS the plot of this movie? I mean, it's set in an apocalyptic wasteland... and... well... it's just awesome? Seriously guys, this is one of the most awesome movies ever made, and I can't tell you what it's about. A lady apoca-warrior is trying to get somewhere and teams up with Bane, and they basically awesome through the fucking desert beating up bad guys and presumable water pirates. And everything from the costumes to the photography to the ridiculous set pieces are just so dripping with awesome you'll be soaked in it within 10 minutes!
Starring: Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Zoe Kravitz

August 12th

11:00pm | Cube (1997) Some people are trapped in a space they don't remember being put in... or know anything about. Before there was Saw... Before there were Escape Rooms... There was Cube.
Starring: Some people you don't know

August 11th

9:00pm | The Blues Brothers (1980) It's here! After references and quotes for months, it's time to watch this classic comedy. Jake and Elwood are musicians on a mission from God to reunite the band and save their childhood home while wreaking 70s carsploitation havoc through the midwest in their Bluesmobile. It has cameos from some of (maybe all?) the greatest R&B and rock stars of the day. And it's funny as hell. Come join for music, car chases, (not) Illinois nazis, and fun!
Starring: John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, John Candy, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, James Brown, Cab Calloway, Carrie Fisher, and many more

August 9th

9:00pm | The Raid 2 (2014) It's pretty much just a continuation of the brutality, but Rama's undercover now in the bad guy squad. How they don't recognize him from the first Raid: Red Dead Redemption First Blood, I dunno. But here we go killin' again.
Starring: Iko Uwais, Yayan Ruhian, Arifin Putra, Julie Estelle

August 8th

9:00pm | The Raid: Redemption (2012) Martial Arts Monday welcomes one of the most highly acclaimed action movies of the last decade! It's not very plot or dialog heavy, basically a swat team gets trapped in a very dangerous, very riddled with bad guys apartment building, and has to fight their way through to survive. Non-stop hand-to-hand, knife-to-hand, hot sweaty man-on-man action! Well, you know what I mean..
Starring: Iko Uwais, Ananda George

August 7th

9:00pm | The Mist (2007) I have a conflicted relationship with this movie, and those that have seen it may know why, because it's a very good horror movie! Fans of practical effects, fans of eerie atmospheric dread, creature feature fans... all will be delighted here! It's a real smörgåsbord of amazing fun horror stuffs put together with Frank Darabont's expert direction. An unknown mist settles into a small town after a freak storm and traps a group of survivors in a grocery store. That's all. Let the fun begin!
Starring: Thomas Jane, Marcia Gay Harden, Laurie Holden, Andre Braugher, Toby Jones, William Sadler

August 6th

9:00pm | 12 Monkeys (1995) This Terry Gilliam mystery sci-fi is one of the best ever made. It might have been my first favorite film. It's still up there for sure, so I'm stoked to finally show it! A time traveling dystopian future council sends a disposable convict back to the past in order to collect bio samples in an attempt to learn about the virus that led to our destruction. Everything else is up to you to piece together, so come early and stay hard, this one will twist your brain like a wet washcloth! And remember, there's no right, there's no wrong, only popular opinion.
Starring: Bruce Willis, Brad Pitt, Madeleine Stowe

August 5th

11:00pm | Ninja III: The Domination (1984) Ohhh boy. Where to start with this... A sexy aerobics instructor is possessed by the evil spirit of a dead ninja to seek vengeance on the cops who murdered him. Is that all you need to know? I mean, yeah pretty much. Don't worry about having seen the first two... they don't exist. Never did. Do you like V8? Well, there's a completely inexplicable scene that's for you whether you like it or not. Recognize the lead, but can't place where? That's the very anti-bra dancing lady from Breakin' and Breakin' 2: Electric Boob-a-loo. Also, there is no reason for anything that happens in this amazing, jaw-dropping, chopschlocky madness, so don't ask questions. Just eats yous popcorns and have fun at the Friday Night Midnight Movie!
Starring: Lucinda Dickey, Sho Kosugi, David Chung, James Hong

August 4th

9:00pm | Joyeux Noel (2005) You know what we could use right about now as most of the northern hemisphere goes through the hottest summer in recorded history alongside the constant casual threat of an extended land war in Europe? A little Christmas cheer! At least, well at least that's what Rillaud thinks. J/k. This is an amazing film about the true story of the Christmas truce between enemies during WWI on the Western Front. A simultaneously heartbreaking and uplifting tale of our humanity even in the worst of our depravity. Wow. Didn't Washington actually specifically attack the British on Christmas Eve in the Crossing of the Delaware maybe...? I dunno, we'll have to ask our resident American history expert Rillaud about that.
Starring: Diane Kruger, Benno Furmann, Guillaume Canet, Natalie Dessay

August 2nd

9:00pm | The Suicide Squad (2021) Is it a sequel? Is it a remake? Who knows. I'm not a loremaster. It's just bound to be better than the 2016 piece of crap. And I don't think it's necessary to enjoy Peacemaker, but everyone does seem to know more about this fella than I do, so I wanna catch up. There isn't even a Joker in this right? Cuz I swear if forehead tattoo Jared Leto pops up for even a hot second I am shutting this shit down.
Starring: Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, John Cena, Viola Davis, Nathan Fillion, Michael Rooker, Jai Courtney

August 1st

9:00pm | Her (2013) Spike Jonze's modern romance story is about an ordinary man who falls in love with his AI companion. Now, will he turn out to be a batshit conspiracy theorist that nobody liked in the first place and get himself fired from Google? I dunno, I haven't seen this yet. But if I know anything about Spike Jonze, it's that I will never know what to expect from him! Marital Arts Monday is doing a Sadge, prepare accordingly!
Starring: Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, Scarlett Johansson, Rooney Mara, Chris Pratt, Olivia Wilde
