November 28th

   9:00pm | Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021) | PG-13 |
Martial Arts Monday is Back Baby! This Morval movie has nothing to do with the multi-verse ones, or it does, or it will somehow in the future. You know better than me. It has some really great Chinese actors and supposedly is pretty culturally faithful. Hopefully not cinematically though, cuz all their big budget action movies they've been pumping out for like the last ten years have been stinkers. Also it has Awkwafina. And there's nothing not annoying about that name. Call me a boomer, but at least Madonna named herself after the holy mother, and not a mispelled beverage corporation. Come at me you triggered juicers!
Starring: Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Tony Chiu-Wai Leung, Ben Kingsley

November 27th

   10:00pm | Insomnia (2002) | R |
In the Alaskan town of Nightmute the sun never sets for part of the year. This makes it difficult on an LA detective sent there to investigate the murdder of a local teen. But the midnight sun isn't the only thing keeping Detective Dormer awake. This is a masterful cat-and-mouse thriller, and Christopher Nolan's third film, with amazing tension, acting, and cinematography all around!
Starring: Al Pacino, Robin Williams, Hilary Swank, Maura Tierney

November 26th

   10:00pm | Jojo Rabbit (2019) | PG-13 |
A German boy must confront his blind nationalism and love for his hero and idiot imaginary friend Hitler when he finds out his mother is hiding a Jewish girl in their attic. An anti-hate WWII historical movie? Well, it's from kiwi director Taika Waititi, so it's like a comedy too... at least I think. Like Inglourious Basterds for kids!
Starring: Roman Griffin Davis, Thomasin McKenzie, Scarlett Johansson, Taika Waititi, Sam Rockwell, Rebel Wilson

November 25th

   11:00pm | The Matrix: Ressurections (2021) | R |
Well, here we are! I know nothing about this other than it's apparently an absolute shitshow. The only things I've heard have been wild. Like the Wachowskis actually didn't wanna make it, so they intentionally made it wacky and meta. There was some drama that sounds like one or both of them had something against Lawrence Fishburne, so he's the only one not invited back. Something about everybody getting a turn at being Neo. I dunno man, we're gonna go through it together. Just know this could be very bad. Getcha some popping corn, it's the Friday Night Midnight Movie!
Starring: Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jonathon Groff, NPH, Christina Ricci

November 24th

   8:00pm | The Matrix Marathon (1999) | R |
Happy Thanksgiving! The coolest movie ever made! And the rest! The first absolutely still holds up. The Animatrix was kinda weird, but maybe better off seen as episodes like it was aired, who knows. And we made it through 2 and most of 3 before I finally crashed. Thanks bot for carrying on, and thanks to everyone for hanging out!
Starring: Keanu Reeves, Lawrence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss, Hugo Weaving, Joey Pants

November 22nd

   10:00pm | Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021) | PG-13 |
The gang's all (mostly) here! Jason Reitman, son of Ivan, takes the reigns on this sequel. The only modern Ghostbusters sequel in known existence. Look I'm not saying ghostbusters can't be ladies, that's just not true. But at least write a movie for them to work with, and don't expect a gimmick rehash with what few jokes there were written by middle schoolers to carry a beloved franchise. Anyway, these are kid ghostbusters and Paul Rudd ghostbusters. And there's plenty of cameos from old ghostbusters, making this one actual canon. Yay!
Starring: Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard, McKenna Grace, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, JKS

November 20th

   9:00pm | Finding Nemo (2003) | G |
Super secret special stream. No mice allowed! Shushing allowed! A clown father searches for his lost clown son. This is one of the best animated films of all time. The characters are drawn with so much personality, the nature is accurate and beautiful, the writing is perfect. Just a total banger through and through.
(*Saba was not responsible for or involved in this write-up..... 5 sabas...)
Starring: Albert Brooks, Ellen DeGeneres, Alexander Gould, Willem Dafoe, Stephen Root, Geoffrey Rush, Eric Bana

November 19th

   10:00pm | Jurassic Park (1993) | PG-13 |
Let's watch the Dino movie! I don't need to synopse this, you all know what it is. Dino theme park presale tour, big electric fence, life... uhhhh finds a way, NEWMAN, clever girls, etc. It's definitely one of the best action adventure movies ever made, probably only rivaled by other Spielberg action adventure movies. It's fun, the Science feels pretty solid (except maybe having critters from all different eras), and the SFX are just the best to this day, a testament to the right use of practical and CG. Welcome to Jurassic Park! Dooo dooo dOOO dooo dooo...
Starring: Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Richard Attenborough, Ariana Richards, Wayne Knight

November 18th

   11:00pm | Bodies Bodies Bodies (2022) | R |
A whole slew of annoying Gen Z-ers shack up in a remote mansion for a hurricane party and start turning on each other as chaos and murder ensues. How long will Pete Davidson last? I hope less than an SNL sketch! I've heard pretty good things about this new horror comedy that sounds like it's perfect for the Friday Night Midnight Movie!
Starring: Amanda Stenberg, Maria Bakalova, Rachel Sennott, Chase Sui Wonders, Pete Davidson, Lee Pace

November 17th

   9:00pm | The Italian Job (2003) | PG-13 |
Heist Night! We haven't had a good heist in a while. Here's one not from Soderberg, but by all accounts could be. Some heisters steal a bunch of gold in Italy and get away with it, but one heister decides to betray the others and takes the gold for himself. This of course means the remaining team has to get some new members like Guy-in-the-Chair Seth Green, Hottie McSafeCracker Theron, and The Transporter to round out Mark Wahlberger's ever-perplexed face and heist back their precious goooold. It's a fun time, and there's an all mini-cooper chase.
Starring: Donald Sutherland, Mark Wahlberg, Ed Norton, Charlize Theron, Jason Statham, Seth Green

November 15th

   9:00pm | Deadpool 1 & 2 (2016) | R |
This is the story of an ex special forces operative turned mercenary, turned super anti-hero by a rogue experiment gone wrong that leaves him with regenerative abilities, but a "face like a ballsack." RR spent years trying to get this thing made, and it really pays off! It's exactly what we needed in an over-saturated superhero market. It pulls no punches, dick jokes, or brutal kills. It's hilarious and hyper violent. It's peak RR one-liners delivered at breakneck speed!
Starring: Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Ed Skrein, Brianna Hildebrand

November 13th

   9:30pm | Hot Tub Time Machine (2010) | R |
Rude, crude, and lewd! And surprisingly funny for something that sounds like a sci-fi Dear Penthouse submission. It's literally a group of friends discover a hot tub that sends them back to the 80s where they have to make sure one of them is conceived. So it's not deep allegory or anything (maybe show up for Ghost Rider if that's your thing), just classic buddy comedy with a bunch of funny people. To the resort! Remember to pack your swimsuit!
Starring: John Cusack, Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, Clark Duke

November 12th

   9:30pm | Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) | PG-13 |
Well, our long and winding journey through the spooderverse comes to a close in this latest film, the conclusion to the modern trilogy. It's been a fun ride and a barrage of confusing titlery! We go out with a bang as Peter Parker's identity has been revealed to the world he seeks out the help of Dr. Strange who botches the spell (probably forgot the quail eggs), releasing havok on the world as the multiverse cracks and collapses. All our spidey-friends are back together again for the first time, each with their own Uncle Ben story!
Starring: Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, Jamie Foxx, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, Holland-Spidey, Tobey-Spidey, Garf-Spidey

November 11th

   9:30pm | Ghost Rider 1 & 2 (2007) | PG-13 |
It's the Friday Night Midnight Movie!! This is a wacky one. You likely already have a very strong opinion on this movie. It's a marvel superhero movie in only the slightest ways, but somehow also manages to pack in every single cliche possible. It's hard to even say what they were going for. It's like if Monster Energy became sentient and had a baby with Johnny Knoxville and that baby was a grownup skeleton Nic Cage riding a motorcyle with his head on fire punishing evil doers. And there's a sequel! Add in some properly surprising names like Peter Fonda, Sam Elliott, Christopher Lambert, Idris Elba... you got yourself, well, you got somethin' alright!
Starring: Nic Cage, Eva Mendes, Sam Elliott, Peter Fonda, Donal Logue, Idris Elba, Violante Placido, Ciaran Hinds

November 10th

   9:30pm | Last Night in Soho (2021) | R |
Writer/Director who can do no wrong, Edgar Wright's latest is a time-bendy, atmospheric 60s period noir mystery. Expect amazing visuals, twisting dark story, a stellar soundtrack, and beautiful talented people in expert lighting that just makes them even harder to look away from. It's a hypnotic trip!
Starring: Thomasin McKenzie, Anya Taylor-Joy, Matt Smith, Diana Rigg

November 8th

   9:00pm | The Transporter 1 & 2 (2002) | PG-13 |
Luc Besson, seemingly still hungry for more after his two high-speed car chasin' french action Taxi movies, came back to America and got himself some Statham, some more cars, and a buttload of money from Hollywood to make these high-speed car chasin action crime caper movies! And we love that about him. This is The Transporter. He transports stuff. I do too, but it's usually just like groceries. And instead of "no questions asked" I am asking way too many questions. Like does this jelly have high-fructose corn syrup? Decision paralysis is real, man. I would not make a good high-speed car chasin' action star transporter...
Starring: Jason Statham, Shu Qi, Matt Schulze, Francois Berleand, Kate Nauta, Keith David

November 7th

   9:30pm | King Ralph (1991) | PG |
Comin' in about two months late with this one (it's a tactful strat) we're introducing Monarchy Mondaaaayyy!! Regular american dude John Goodman somehow becomes the heir to the throne after an incident wipes out the Royal Family. What sort of fish-out-of-water shenanigans will he get up to?? Goodman is a perfect foil to some great brit icons including at least one knight and one who turned down knighthood. Join for royal fun; it's Tabba's redeem!
Starring: John Goodman, Peter O'Toole, John Hurt, Camille Coduri, Joely Richardson

   11:30pm Bonus Movie | Werewolves Within (2021) | R |
This was enjoyable enough as a horror comedy. Way less werewolf action than the title would have you believe. None really. Kinda disjointed and probably would've benefited from a full commitment to the whodunnit aspect. But not without some laughs and fun characters.
Starring: Sam Richardson, Milana Vayntrub, George Basil, Sara Burns

November 6th

   11:30pm | Les Visiteurs (1993) | R |
A medieval knight and his squire are accidentally transported to the 20th century by a senile sorcerer. They immediately begin an all-out assault on what used to be their castle, but which is currently a luxury hotel. It's very silly time travel fun!
Starring: Christian Clavier, Jean Reno, Valerie Lemercier, Marie-Anne Chazel
